Surely it will have caught your attention that the name “BODEGA” appears on tiles on the outside stone wall of the room. This is because it was formerly the building that housed the estate’s winery, a traditional winery where the grapes were trodden and then pressed and finally stored in barrels for fermentation. All the elements, utensils and instruments that made up the old winery are today, to the delight of visitors, on display in the Oil Mill .
In the main hall of the Finca. If you look at the ceiling when you enter you can see the old ceiling of the cellar, which is much older, with wooden beams and reeds. This is perfectly distinguished from the new roof made to undertake the expansion by converting the cellar into a salon. Also made of wood and reeds, but much more open and without pillars to give the salon more space & height
Let’s go back to the entrance of the room and we will see two different doors, on the left we find a modern glass door for easy access and exit of the guests. Opposite there is another very old four-leaf door with glass, which can be opened on special occasions or can be used to give access to carry large objects into the room. This is undoubtedly one of the most decorative elements in the room.
Upon entering the room, the first thing that catches the eye are the two large backlit photos of emblematic specimens bred in our Purebred Spanish horse stud. They are, on the right, “Cantina” a black-coated mare, with spectacular bearing, a breeding mother in our stud for many years. To the left is “Llevadera”, another mare with a grey coat, simply impressive, with perfect proportions, who was also a breeding mare in the stud farm.
If we move towards the back of the room on the left hand side we find another decorative element of great visual impact. It is a large perforated white mosaic, with a gold background and backlighting. Perhaps what interior designers call the decorative antithesis, that is, an element that contrasts with the environment in which it is integrated. This undoubtedly breaks the monotony and gives a modern touch to the room.
Although the most impressive element of the room, in everyone’s opinion, is the large window at the back. It is the union with the countryside and nature, which makes our room have one more dimension and distinguishes us from other places. Can you imagine eating and seeing our horses grazing in the fields? You don’t have to imagine, you get to live it.
And lastly, and in order not to go on too long, I recommend you visit the baths. Look at the ceilings, and of course, in the area of the sinks, where we have used lebrijos (llibrells in Valencia) in honor of the pottery tradition of our town, ORBA.
